Privacy Policy
Who we are
JobWhale.co.uk (“JobWhale”, “we”, “us”) is operated by DZRE LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 13591618). We run a UK job board connecting job seekers with employers, including free-forever access for eligible NHS, government/public-sector, university, college and registered charity organisations.
What we collect
- Account & profile data – name, email address, and (for employers) organisation details, when you register.
- Job applications & CVs – CVs, cover letters and any information you submit when applying for a role or posting a job listing.
- Contact form submissions – name, email and message content when you contact us.
- Payment information – if you purchase a paid employer plan, payment is processed by our payment provider (via WooCommerce); we do not store your full card details ourselves.
- Usage & cookies – basic analytics (via MonsterInsights/Google Analytics) and functional cookies needed to keep you logged in and remember your preferences.
How we use your data
We use your data to operate the job board: matching candidates with jobs, letting employers review applicants, verifying free-tier eligibility for NHS/government/university/college/charity accounts, processing payments for paid plans, responding to enquiries, and improving the service.
Who we share it with
Job seekers’ applications and CVs are shared with the employer they apply to. We use third-party processors to run the site, including our hosting provider, payment processor, and analytics provider. We do not sell your personal data. We support Whale & Dolphin Conservation and encourage you to learn more about their work at uk.whales.org; this does not involve sharing any personal data with them.
How long we keep it
We keep account and application data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting or dispute-resolution needs, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights (UK GDPR)
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us via our Contact page. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) if you believe we have not handled your data properly.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to run the site (login sessions, shopping cart for paid plans) and analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. See our Cookie Policy for details. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time; the current version will always be available on this page.
